Morocco is a mountainous country located in western North Africa, directly across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain. It has borders with Algeria to the east and the Western Sahara to the south. Along its coast lines are both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

Morocco is a land that overflows with beauty, with lots of color, warmth and charm. Here are some of the most beautiful spots in this attractive country.
Draa Valley


The Draa Valley is the gateway to one of Morocco’s most famous desert dune fields. Located in the deep south of Morocco, it stretches from the city of Ouarzazate into the Sahara Desert. The Draa Valley is a stunning oasis home to Berber villages, sumptuous Kasbahs, streaming sand dunes and lush green plains. Also present are the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, endless stretches of palm trees and the Draa, Morocco’s largest river.


During ancient times, the Draa river crossed the desert and traveled hundreds of kilometers west until it joined the Atlantic. Today, most of this river has dried but its path still leads through one of the most fascinating landscapes in Morocco. Indeed, among the most beautiful places in Africa, Morocco has really beautiful spots!

Ouzoud Waterfalls


Ouzoud Waterfalls – one of Morocco’s top natural sightseeing attractions. It is located near the Moyen Atlas village of Tanaghmeilt, in the province of Azilal, 150 km northeast of Marrakech. Ouzoud means “the act of grinding grain” in the Berber language. The Ouzoud Waterfalls is the second tallest waterfall in Africa. It’s a huge touristic destination and one of the most visited and photographed natural sites in Morocco!
The bottom of the falls is accessible through a shaded path of olive trees. At the summit of the falls, there are a dozen old small mills that are still in use. While descending the gorges in a canyon, sometimes one does not distinguish the bottom which is nearly 600 metres down. The lush countryside here spans many different shades of green. This adds to the soothing and tranquil appeal of this little corner of Morocco!
Atlas Mountains


The Atlas Mountains, a mountain range in central Morocco, extends from the Atlantic Coast to the Algerian border. Being North Africa’s highest mountain range, High Atlas is popularly known as the mountain of mountains. This place is a paradise for trekkers, especially from spring to autumn.


It runs diagonally across Morocco for approximately 1000 km, and its saw-toothed Jurassic peaks act as a weather barrier. Out of all the best places to visit in Morocco, this one is so beautiful that it will take your breath away!

Dades Valley


The Dades Valley is the principal route between the desert and the ancient trading oases of the Tifilalt. En route the northern rear of the High Atlas, there is a dramatic gorge cutting into the mountainside. This natural wonder forms one of Morocco’s greatest natural sights and comes complete with a gentle stream and welcoming auberge and café.


This valley is one of Morocco’s prime walking and hiking destinations due to the weird rock formations and stunning mountain scenery. Nature-lovers should keep their eyes peeled for eagle and bearded vulture sightings. People who love trekking will simply just love the empty trails here.


Ourika Valley


The Ourika Valley – situated at a 60 km distance from Marrakesh. While traveling along the Ourika valley you will enjoy beautiful landscapes, from walnuts, wiping willow and poplar trees. You will also notice its mountains and rocks varying in color, from red to green. This is the sole location within the High Atlas Range where the endangered primate Barbary macaque is known to occur, as per Wikipedia.


Ourika Valley, due to its many waterfalls and several attractions, is a very popular Ourika day trip from Marrakech. The region is inhabited by Berber people who practice a traditional way of life. Despite its proximity to Marrakech, it is still considered relatively “unspoiled”.
